There were two
of these pictures. This was the (lesser quality) out take. I took this in the summer to send to my best friend Casey who went to bootcamp for the navy. The only way of contacting her was by writing and mailing letters. I had gotten new glasses, the ones you see here, and dyed my hair and wanted to show her so I snapped a photo of me in the front lawn and put it in the elvelope with one of my letters. I got so excited every time I got a letter form her in the mail. The timing was very, very delayed though. She would write the letter and I would get it THREE weeks later. So the things written in the letter was always three weeks ago. So if she said she was sick in the letter I would wonder “I wonder if Casey is still sick TODAY or if she’s gotten better.” And there was no way of knowing until 3 weeks from then. The worst part though, was how I would write down everything happening in my life and she would get the letter much later than any of that happened and so much stuff went on that summer that I wanted to just call her and tell her or cry or complain to her. It was like by the time she got the letter the information was old. It was fun. It made us wonder. :)
